Admitting the computer industry was \u201cin the tank,\u201d he said personal computing had \u201ctremendous momentum\u201d and thought they\u2019d soon enable an era of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/2014\/07\/jobs-dreamed\/\">\u201cfree intellectual energy.\u201d<\/a> Even before the 1990s tech boom and bust, he predicted computers would someday gather source material and help humans ask questions to the world\u2019s brightest minds \u2014 both past and present. To illustrate his point, Jobs joked about becoming \u201cimmensely jealous\u201d after learning Aristotle had once tutored Alexander the Great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy hope is someday when the next Aristotle is alive, we can capture the underlying worldview of that Aristotle in a computer,\u201d Jobs said. \u201cAnd someday some student will be able to not only read the words Aristotle wrote but ask Aristotle a question and get an answer. That\u2019s what I hope that we can do.
