Ministers are already considering a ban as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2026\/jan\/19\/uk-ministers-launch-consultation-into-whether-to-ban-social-media-for-under-16s\">part of a consultation<\/a> due to report by the summer and so the Lords amendment is unlikely to pass in the Commons.
